Alice Belville

Alice Caroline Belville, 72, of Browning died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Newkirk, Okla., a daughter of William M. and Florence M. Biggerstaff Voegele.

Surviving are four daughters, Mary Ford of Nederland, Texas, Diana (and David) Ashbaker of Browning, Linda (and Ed) Curry of Frederick and Gertrude (and Joe) Neff of Springfield, Mo.; five sisters, Kathleen Steward of Edwardsville, Sandra (and Irvin) Shiek and Rozann (and Ronald) Sebor, both of Newkirk, Vera Daiber of Marine and Ann Webster of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, William Voegele of Keys-port and Robert (and Cathy) Voegele of Maryville; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Wright, in 1971; three brothers; and one sister.

She had worked at Masonic Hospital in St. Louis, where she did her nurse's training. She later was a nurse's aide at a nursing home in Pine Lawn, Mo., for one year and last worked at Parkview Nursing Home in Beardstown.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Rushville with Rev. Robert Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery. Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Marine was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
