Lulus Butcher

Lulus Huett Butcher, 101, of Astoria, formerly of Boonville, Ind., died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Astoria Manor.

She was born March 23, 1900, in Posey County, Ind., a daughter of William H. and Sarah Grace Taylor Burnett. She married Millard Fillmore Huett on Nov. 29, 1916, in Posey County. He died in 1952.

She married Charles L. Butcher on Sept. 29, 1956, in Rockport, Ind. He died in 1982.

She also was preceded in death by three sons, Dennis Huett, Orville Huett and Millard Huett Jr.; three daughters, Dorothy Schnapff, Sarah Seiler and Thelma Baker; two great-grandsons; three brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Donald (and Betty) Huett of Boonville, Ind., and Robert (and Marilyn) Huett of Evansville, Ind.; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was an assessment officer for Boonville Public Aid office for several years.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Services were held today at 1 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home in Boonville. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.

Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of local arrangements.
