Betty May Hoole Briney, 81, of Rushville died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Heritage Manor South Nursing Home in Beardstown.
She was born May 16, 1919, in Astoria, the daughter of Floyd and Lucy Mercer Hoole. She married Wilburn R. Briney on Feb. 26, 1935, in Rushville. He died Nov. 7, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Paul (and Sally) of Chatham and Homer (and Fran) of Rushville; a half brother, John Hoole of Boulder City, Nev.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She farmed with her husband.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville, Schuyler Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Beardstown Business and Professional Women.
She was a member of a bowling team in Beardstown for several years.
Services were held Monday at her church with Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
