LINDELL D. BENTON

Lindell Benton

Lindell D. Benton, 89, of Lewistown, died at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton.

He was born April 6, 1910, in Atkinson, the son of Walter E. and Ada Daily Benton.

Surviving are one daughter, JoAn (and George) Orfans of Southaven, Miss.; one son, L. Chris of Cuba; one stepdaughter, Valerie Hoops of Elmwood; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was a farmer in the Lewistown area. He was a Farmers Insurance agent for 25 years.

He was a member of the Fulton County Board of Review for many years and was active in the Democratic Party in Lewistown.

He was a member of Illinois Street Christian Church of Lewistown.

Services were held Monday at his church with Rev. Lester Beaman officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church or the American Red Cross of Canton.
