PAULINE (MOSS) BAKER

Pauline Baker

Pauline Baker, 84, of Canton, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 1999, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 15, 1914, the daughter of John and Caroline Moose Moss. She married Virgil Oliver Baker on Aug. 21, 1937, in Wapello, Iowa. He died Feb. 22, 1971.

One son, David, and one daughter, Phyllis Baker, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Bernard of Pinckneyville; two daughters, Jean Pavley and Sharon Elliott, both of Canton; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She worked in the housekeeping department at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba and later worked for Green Thumb Health Care in Fulton County.

She was a past member of Women of the Moose in Canton. She was raised in and attended school in Astoria.

Services were held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Kenneth Crawford officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
