Ralph R. Beadles, 78, of Astoria, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 1998, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1919, in Lewistown, a son of John R. and Mary Coney Beadles. He married Frances G. Skiles on April 8, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Janet) Danner of Astoria; one son, James of Odessa, Texas; five grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; one great-grandchild; one brother, Fred of Minnesota; and one sister, Cora Bordner of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and three half sisters.

He worked for the Fulton County Highway Department, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 108 and a 50-year member of Carpenters Local 183, both in Peoria. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25.

Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. Cliff Parry officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Foundation or the McDonough Hospital Hospice.
