Ruth Lowry Bridges, 75, of Astoria, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at her home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Monmouth, a daughter of Robert S. and Mary Anderson Lowry. She married Jack K. Bridges on Aug. 14, 1948 in Galesburg.
Surviving are one son, Robert Bridges of Astoria; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister Josephine Shifley of Galesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church. She was a Past President of Women’s Alabama Golf Association.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home in Galesburg with Rev. Phillip Glick officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria United Methodist Church or the Astoria Rescue Squad.
