Vera R. Bloyd, 78, of Lewistown, died at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 1997, at the Prairie View Care Center in Lewistown, where she had been a resident since June 20, 1997.
She was born June 26, 1919, in Putman Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Charles Monroe and Minnie Haacke Hummel. She married Glen Martin Bloyd on March 16, 1938, at Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1994. She was also preceded in death by three sisters.
She is survived by one son, Aaron A. Bloyd of Canton; two daughters, Ronda Sue Shumaker of Lewistown, and Sara A. Smart of Cuba; two sisters, Elva L. Thompson of Astoria and Lois M. Randall of Lewistown.
She was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown, Lewistown American Legion Post #1 Auxiliary and the Lewistown Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Graveside services were held Saturday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Eugene Danner officiating. Henry Memorial Homes was in charge of arrangements.
