James D. Bollinger, 71, of Farmington, died at 3:51 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Farmington, a son of James Sr. and Emma Mae Handley Bollinger. He married Shirley Jean Wilcoxen Lenzi on Feb. 6, 1948, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Raymond Lenzi of Carbondale; three brothers, Robert E. Bollinger of Farmington, Franklin E. Bollinger of El Cajon, Calif., and Lloyd Bollinger of Monticello, Ky.; four sisters, Edna Colvin, Eileen Wilcoxen and Juanita Hartzog, all of Farmington, and Bernice Williamson of Ipava; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

He was an Army veteran. He worked for Midland Coal Co. in Fairview for 38 years, retiring in 1982.

Funeral services were held Monday at Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Reiner officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Fulton County Rehabilitation Center in Canton.
