Reneda Burkiett

Reneda M. Burkiett, 15, of London Mills, died at 9:31 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Dec. 2, 1980, in Canton, a daughter of Randy T. Sr. and Bonnie S. Goff Burkiett.

Surviving are her parents of London Mills; one brother, Randy T. Burkiett Jr. of Rapatee; three sisters, Saebra Walljasper of rural Farmington, Niccole Buswell of rural Ipava, and Collette Ball of Fairview; and grandparents, Albert and Edith Burkiett of Fairview, Ralph and Maggie Goff of Abia, Ohio, and Wilma Maucione of Intercession City, Fla.

One brother preceded her in death.

She was a sophomore at Spoon River Valley High School in rural London Mills, where she was active with the Chorus Club, volleyball team, Art Club and a member of the Honor Roll. She played the saxophone with the school band and was a statistician for the boys basketball team. She participated in the Scholastic Bowl. She attended Cuba Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were held Monday at Fairview Reformed Church in Fairview with Rev. Richard Kerr and Rev. Earl Black officiating. Burial was in Coal Creek Cemetery in rural Fairview.

Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Fairview was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.
