H. Wayne BrooksH. Wayne BrooksH. Wayne Brooks, 72, of Macomb, died at 9:40 p.m. Monday, May 8, 1995, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Birmingham, a son of Walter C. and Ollie Grimm Brooks. He married Barbara Smith on July 30, 1949, in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jim of Macomb; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Janet) Still of Bushnell; two brothers, Gale of Macomb and Guy of Blandinsville; and four sisters, Jessie Facklar of Mansfield, Ohio, Verna Brooks of Macomb, Marjorie LeMaster of Adair and Faye Grisham of Kerrville, Texas. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He farmed in McDonough County. He was a trustee of Macomb Township for ten years and served on Bardolph High School Board.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce officiating. Calling hours will be after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home until service time. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
