Gladys I. Benson, 88, of Macomb died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 1995 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born Oct. 31, 1906 in Vermont, the daughter of Ellsworth and Jennie Ellis Derry. She married Joseph Alfred Kidd in 1923. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by one son, John Kidd of Morton; three daughters, Evelyn Ilene Gregory of Sonoma, Calif., Elaine Jacob of Carthage and Colleen Wagner of Warsaw; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Melvin Derry.
Mrs. Benson worked at several restaurants in Peoria and Macomb, last working at Student Prince East in Macomb, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. David Huff officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens west of Macomb.
