VeteranCharles Bohannon Dies At Age 93

Charles E. Bohannon, 93, formerly of Ipava, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 1990, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Nov. 23, 1896, in Fox Landing, Tenn., a son of James E. and Mary Ellen Rowland Bohannon. He married Lena M. Danner in 1929 in Rushville. She died April 12, 1949. He later married Clora Coombs in 1955. She died in 1971.

Surviving are one daughter, Ellen Lyons of Havana; one stepson, John Coombs of East Peoria; one stepdaughter, Juanita Gilman of Peoria; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was a retired farmer and had farmed in the Ipava, Havana, Lewistown and Farmington areas. He also was a maintenance man for Proctor Endowment Home before retiring. He was a World War I Army veteran.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava where visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be at Ipava Cemetery.
