Nina Bohannan Of Pekin Dies

Nina Mae Bohannan, 72, of 101 N. McArthur Drive, N. Pekin, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 1990, at Pekin Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Browning, a daughter of John and Frances Johnson Miller. She married Thomas H. Bohannan on June 3, 1935, in Peoria. He died April 2, 1957.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers and two grandsons.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Terry (Mae) Lucas of Marquette Heights, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Frazell, Mrs. Charles (Pauline) Brewer and Mrs. Richard (Mary) Munson, all of North Pekin, and Mrs. Kenneth (Wanda) Pherigo of Havana; three sons, Tom of Houston, and Paul and John, both of North Pekin; 45 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; six great, great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Miller of Manito; and one sister, Iva Tibbetts of Pekin.

She was a cook for School District 102 for 18 years, retiring in 1978.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin with Rev. W. B. Howerton officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
