Elsie I. Barker Of Macomb Dies

Elsie I. Barker, 94, a resident of the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, formerly of Blandinsville, Table Grove and Bushnell, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Feb. 6, 1896, near Table Grove, a daughter of Ellsworth and Effie Fordyce Pickering. She married Hugh Bunch on April 25, 1911, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died on Aug. 24, 1935. She married Ira J. Barker on April 1, 1939, in Memphis, Mo. He died in January 1968.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Maurice Bunch, an infant daughter, one brother and one sister.

Surviving are one son, Harold G. Bunch of Macomb; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great, great-grandchildren.

A Macomb resident fot he past 21 years, she was a 50-year member of both the Rebekah Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Rev. Alan Newhall officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove.

Memorials may be made to the Elms Nursing Home, the Bushnell Methodist Church, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
