Arthur Ivana Bolton, 83, of Wapello, Ia., died Friday, Sept. 7, 1984, at Wapello.
Mr. Bolton was born July 5, 1901, at Ipava, the son of I.J. and Clara Hanson Bolton. He married Ruth France on Dec. 25, 1927. She died in 1971.
He is survived by one son, Bryce Bolton of Issaquah, Wash.; one daughter, Joyce Mattson of Joppa, Md.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Frances Lyons of Waukegan, Ill.
Mr. Bolton was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Wapello Kiwanis Club and Ducks Unlimited. A school teacher, he formerly taught at Ipava High School. He had taught in the Wapello School District from 1966 to 1971 and was Mayor of Wapello from 1972 to 1977.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at his church in Wapello with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.
