Sidney V. Battin Of Adair Dies

Funeral services for Sidney V. Battin, 81, of Adair were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont, with Rev. Oakley Masten officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.

Mr. Battin died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 1980, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Oct. 12, 1898, in Bardolph, the son of George and Hettie Wetzel Battin. He married Burnice McFadden Sept. 18, 1924, in Macomb.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church in Adair.

Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Corey of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Marcelyn Davis of Centralia, Wash.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Achsa Mitchell of Table Grove and Miss Fannie Battin of Los Angeles, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
