Lula Biesenthal Of Springfield Dies

Mrs. Lula Frances Biesenthal, 64, of 415 W. Allen St., Springfield, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 12, 1980, at Memorial Medical Center in that city.

She was born Jan. 23, 1916, at Glenarm, Ill., the daughter of William and LuEllen Kessler Buckles.

She was last employed as a nurse’s assistant at Memorial Medical Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Norma Vanek of Springfield; one son, Marvin Biesenthal of Astoria; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Haycraft and a twin sister, Susie Bakunas, both of Springfield, and Mrs. Alfred Baumgardner of Petersburg; two brothers, James E. Buckles of Elkhart, Ill., and Carl LeRoy Buckles of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Arlen Longanecker of Astoria officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
