Alfred J. “Fred” Baxter, Jr., 80, of Astoria died early Thursday morning, at his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Dale Eddington officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.
He was born Nov. 18, 1889, at Astoria, the son of Alfred J. and Emma Toler Baxter and resided in Astoria all of his life. He was a member of the Astoria Christian Church. He never married.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Annette Baxter of Astoria, and a brother, Ralph Baxter of Rushville. Two brothers and a sister died previously.
