VeteranCarl W. Blunt Of Vermont Dies

Carl W. Blunt, 74, of Vermont, a retired carpenter, died suddenly at his home early Monday morning, June 8.

He was born May 5, 1896, in Havana, a son of Charles and Ermine Adkins Blunt, and was first married to Lora McNeal. On Sept. 28, 1945, he married Jane McCarty at Macomb, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bettie Kessler, Cascade, Mont., and Mrs. Joyce Slesche of of Fairbanks, Alaska; three step-children, Robert McCarty of Littleton, Mrs. Vera Lee Markham of Macomb and Mrs. Mildred Greuel of Vermont; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a brothers, Edison Blunt of St. Louis, Mo. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Blunt was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, Fulton County Farm Bureau, Vermont Lodge No. 116, AF & AM, and the Yakima, Wash. Consistory, and the Vermont United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10, at the United Methodist Church in Vermont, and burial was in Vermont Cemetery.

Carl Blunt of Vermont died suddenly Monday morning at his home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont.
