A Bartonville couple was killed and their young children were hurt when the family was struck by an automobile on route 24 near Bartonville. Dead are Frederick B. Blau, 58, and his wife, Lillian, 31. Their son Michael, 2½, was critically injured, and their daughter, Patricia Mae, nine months, suffered lesser injuries.
William Novotny, Bartonville, told police the family stepped into the path of his automobile and he was unable to avoid striking them.
