Mrs. Nan Barker Dies Following Brief Illness

Mrs. Nan Barker, 72, died Thursday morning at her home here after a week’s illness of pneumonia.

Born May 20, 1868 in Astoria, a daughter of John and Christina (Morris) English, she was married to Edward Barker, who preceded her in death. She was one of a family of 11 children, only one sister of whom is living, Mrs. Elizabeth Vance of Dixon, Ill.

She was a member of the Christian church.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the residence by the Rev. John A. Brubeck. Burial in Astoria cemetery.
