According to an article published in the August 23rd issue of Logansport, Indiana Tribune, Mrs. Pearl Brenneman, aged 57, wife of the late De Brenneman, a former resident of near Bader, died on August 22 at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette, of burns suffered a few days previous at her home in Pyrmont, Indiana.
When the weather became cool Mrs. Brenneman, who had been in ill health, lighted the heater and in doing so spilled part of the fuel on her dress. When she sat down in front of the heater, her clothing caught fire and she suffered severe burns over her entire body.
She was rushed to a hospital, where she lived thirty-one hours. Her husband passed away a little over a year ago.
