Daniel Beaty Answers Call

Daniel C. Beaty, a pioneer resident of South Fulton, died at his home east of Summum Sunday, aged 72 years, 9 months and 28 days. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Beaty was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, May 15, 1847. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary E. Ralston on Nov. 27th, 1870 and to them were born seven children, three of whom survive; namely, Mrs. Lillian Moslander of Harper, Kans., Frank Beaty of Summum and Hiram Beaty of Cuba. Besides the children and aged wife, he leaves to mourn his death, one brother Dr. I. L. Beaty of Fairview and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Stephens of Centerville, Kans., and Mrs. George Salisbury of Kerton township.

Mr. Beaty was an early settler of that community, having come to Illinois with his parents in 1851. His long life has been spent in the peaceful, but arduous and worthy pursuits of farming.

The funeral services were held today at 10 o’clock at the home, conducted by Rev. L. A. Crown, pastor of the Christian church. Interment in the Hickory cemetery.
