Martha Jane Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bishop of Sheldons Grove was born in Monroe county, December 13, 1916 and passed from this life March 4, 1920, being at the time of her death, 3 years, 2 months and 20 days. Short funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock by Rev. John Davis and the remains laid to rest in the Sheldons Grove cemetery.
She, with her parents and brother and sister, was stricken with the flu and the child seldom regained consciousness throughout her sickness.
Mr. and Mrs. Bishop moved from Monroe County, to Sheldons Grove several months ago. They have the sympathy of the entire community for this loss which will be felt keenly by the family.
A little one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled,
It leaves a vacancy in our hearts
Which never can be filled.
