David William Agans, 73, of Camden died at 6:45 a.m. June 4, 2023, at Saint John’s Hospital in Springfield.David William Agans, 73, of Camden died at 6:45 a.m. June 4, 2023, at Saint John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 30, 1949, in Doddsville Township, Schuyler County, a son of Lora and Christine Oliver Agans. He married Donna Hillyer on July 1, 1967, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry (and Kim) Agans and Larry “Dale” (and Christa) Agans, both of Camden; two daughters, Colonel Angela (and Lt. Col. Doug) Freeman of Arlington, Va. and Tonia (and Rob) Thornton of Quincy; one sister, Judy Park of Rushville; 27 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Troy; two stepbrothers, Frances Agans and Caroll Agans; and one stepsister, Lyona Stolp.
He was an independent owner/operator truck driver for over 40 years before retiring.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
