William "Red" AmbrosiusWilliam Harold “Red” Ambrosius, 89, of Rushville died at 8 p.m. Jan. 8, 2020, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Sept. 4, 1930, the son of W. Henry and Bessie Howard Ambrosius. He married Bonnie Melvin in 1961 in Rushville. He later married Carolyn Ford Moore on Jan. 3, 1992, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Andee (and Amy) Ambrosius of Rushville; one daughter, Amber (and Travis) Quinn of Littleton; one stepson, Kile Moore of Rushville; one sister, Imogene (and Myrlen) Daniels of Industry; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing, Freeman United Coal Company and M and M Vending until retiring.

He was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. A private graveside service will be held in Rushville City Cemetery at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
