She was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Springfield, a daughter of Henry and Elsie Crozier Tutt. She married Donald E. Aten on Jan. 18, 1950, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 2008.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Sloan; and one brother, Robert Tutt.
Surviving are one daughter, Cheri (and Roger) Baker of Rushville; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was a 1946 graduate of Rushville High School. She worked at Cudahy Packing Company in Rushville and worked as a clerk and cashier at the sale barn in Rushville.
She was a Girl Scout leader. She worked with her husband on the family farm.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville where she took attendance and was in charge of the curriculum for over 40 years. She also served on the Citizens Advisory Committee considering building the new Rushville High School in 1959. She was active with Schuyler American Legion Post # 4 Auxiliary.
Services were held Saturday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Grant Armstrong officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
