Thomas Ray Allen, 75, of Aurora, Colo., died at 4:13 p.m. May 25, 2015, at Denver Hospice in Denver, Colo.
He was born Jan. 7, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Richard and Alice Allen. He married Joyce Hughes Allen on Jan. 31, 1960, in Champaign. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Gary Allen; three children, Tommy Allen, Eric Allen and Suzi (and Ed) Jalowsky; and three grandchildren.
He received a full scholarship at MacMurray College, and obtained his masters degree at The University of Toledo.
He coached at several colleges throughout the years and ended his coaching career at Cornell University. He went to People to People Sports Committee in Great Neck, New York. From there, he was promoted to Kansas City and became the Committee Director for NAIA.
He went to Denver in 1985 and became the director of fundraising for the American Cancer Research Center.
