Helen AultHelen Ruth Ault, 97, of Cuba died at 2:50 p.m. Feb. 22, 2012, at Clayberg Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 9, 1914, in Seville, a daughter of Harley W. and Bertha A. Watson Irwin. She married George E. Ault on May 13, 1936, in Cuba. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1977.

She also was preceded in death by one son, three daughters, one brother, two sisters and one great-grandchild.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet (and Richard) Cleer of Edwards and Debra (and Jim) Ellis of Maquon; one son, Gary Ault of Willow Spring, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She and her husband were owners of Ault's Food Store in Cuba from 1936 until they had an auction and sold it on Nov. 14, 1971. She then worked at Kingspark Grocery Park from December 1971 until the summer of 1981 when she retired.

She was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church.

She also was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.

Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Paul Newhall officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
