Glen AndersonGlen L. Anderson, 73, of Rushville died at 5:28 p.m. July 7, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born July 12, 1933, in Brooklyn Township, Schuyler County, the son of Kenneth and Voneta Unger Anderson. He married Marian Fuqua on Oct. 4, 1953, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Derrick (and Kim) and Brian (and Tricia), both of Rushville; two sisters, Betty (and Edward) Widener of Augusta and Sandra (and Tony) Harris of Burlington, Iowa; and four grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from May 1953 to May 1955 at Fort Campbell, Ky.

He worked at Rushville Farmers Elevator and was a lifelong Schuyler County farmer.

He served on the Schuyler County Fair Board for 32 years and was assistant superintendent of the draft horse and mule show at Illinois State Fair for several years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rushville and Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a leader of Kinderhook Champions 4-H Club for many years.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Ann Kelson officiating. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Hospital, Schuyler County Fair or Schuyler Humane Society.
