Harold AldridgeHarold R. Aldridge, 60, of Lewistown died at 6:03 a.m. April 16, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center.

He was born June 30, 1946, in Springfield, a son of William and Barbara Berry Aldridge. He married Vickie Smith on June 27, 1981, in Little America. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dennis (and Brandy) of Henderson, Nev.; two daughters, Shelley (and Graham) Miguel of Cayucos, Calif., and Kim (and Toby) Vaughn of San Jose; five brothers, Joe (and Marcy) of Springfield, Bob (and Dorothy) of St. Peters, Mo., John (and Sharon) of Gillespie, Roger (and Leta) of Springfield and Troy of Mattoon; three sisters, Jeannie Miller of Jacksonville, Fla.; Cheryl (and Don) Bridgewater of Springfield and Linda Purvis of Mattoon; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dennis and David.

He was a Vietnam veteran, serving 13 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and later worked at Spoon River Towers and U.S. Suppliers in Lewistown. He was a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites accorded by his VFW Post and American Legion Bishop Post 1.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his grandchildren in care of Farmers State Bank of Fulton County.
