Freida I. Hopping Allen, 86, of Knoxville, formerly of Astoria, died at 9:23 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Jan. 23, 1917, in Astoria, a daughter of Oliver "Dick" and Edna E. Brewer Hopping.
Surviving are one daughter, Toni O'Brien of Weldon; one brother, Dayne (and Mildred) Hopping of Knoxville; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
She had been a business owner.
She showed Western Class and Parade Class horses.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Union Chapel Cemetery with Cliff Parry officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Township Cemetery Association.
