LINDA D. (PERKINS) AZBELL

Linda Azbell

Linda D. Azbell, 43, of Canton, died at 12:34 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born March 27, 1955, in Macomb, a daughter of Wilson and Gail McLaren Perkins.

She is survived by her former husband, Kimball Azbell; her mother, Gail McLaren of Macomb; one son, Brandon of Melrose Park; one sister, Pamela Green of Macomb; and two grandchildren.

Her father preceded her in death.

In 1979, she graduated from Graham Hospital School of Nursing, where she received the Edwards Award. She worked at Graham Hospital for 20 years. She was certified in in-patient obstetrics and was a neo-natal resuscitation instructor. She was a member of Lambda Chi Omega sorority. She was a former board member of the United Way for Spoon River Country.

She was a former member of Ipava United Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir and bell choir, was superintendent of the Sunday school program and served on the session.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, where she was a member of the choir and bell choir and active with the youth program.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Walles officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove. Arrangements are by Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home.

Memorials may be made to the Linda Azbell Memorial Fund in care of CEFCU in Canton.
