Helen L. Andrews, 67, of Macomb, died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at McDonough District Hospital.
She was born April 14, 1931, in Macomb, the daughter of Rollie and Rosie Ellis Asbell. She married Richard J. Cox on April 20, 1952. He died June 29, 1975. She married Harold Andrews on Nov. 19, 1977. He died Dec. 1, 1997.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harlan (Ann) Brown of Table Grove and Mrs. Steven (Susan) Whitlock of Colchester; one son, Robert Huston of Galesburg; one brother, Lloyd Asbell of Burlington, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Loyd (Jean) Burton of Colchester; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was a waitress and worked at Ellis Cafe and Red’s Cafe. She also was a cook at Galesburg Research Hospital and worked in housekeeping at Macomb Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a social member of Macomb Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Macomb Eagles Club.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Ron Green officiating. There will be no visitation. Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
