SALOMA HARRIETT (FREILEY) ALLINGER

Harriett Freiley Allinger

IPAVA — Saloma Harriett, daughter of Thomas and Harriett Falkenstein Freiley, was born in Fulton Co., Ill., April 10, 1866 where she grew to young womanhood. On Feb. 4, 1897 she was united in marriage to W. T. Allinger. They began housekeeping at Rocky Ford, Colo. Five years later they moved to other points in the west and south, moving to Canton, Oklahoma in 1919 where Mr. Allinger died Sept. 19, 1920.

Mrs. Allinger’s health began failing over three years ago, becoming critically ill Saturday, Oct. 18. She passed away Oct. 23 at the home of her daughter Mrs. A. F. Paulsen, aged 64 years. In early life she united with the Christian church and remained in that faith. She leaves to mourn her loss three daughters and a son, Mrs. Beatrice and Mrs. Cora Paulsen, Thomas of Ponca City, Okla., and Miss Harriett of Canton. Alice R. died in infancy. There are nine grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Miss Belle and Sterling Freiley of Ipava, S. W. Freiley, Wilcox, Nebr., Mrs. Lewis Pigg of Smithfield, Mrs. Mary Beadles, Leon, Kansas, a half brother P. G. Freiley of Fayetville, Ark., and Mrs. Nancy Hunsaker of Plymouth, Ill.

She was a devoted wife and mother and bore her suffering patiently, expressing her appreciation for those who so tenderly cared for her.

The funeral was held Oct. 25 at the Christian church with burial in the local church beside her husband.
