MARY JANE (LEONARD) AZBELL

Obituary

IPAVA — Jane Leonard, daughter of James and Elizabeth Leonard, was born in Bellman county, Ohio, January 6, 1853 and died Monday morning, January 13, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Helms of Ipava. She came to Fulton county when eight years of age and has lived all of her life here.

In 1873 she was united in marriage to John Azbell who preceded her in death three years ago. Two children were born to them and they are Ed Azbell of Bernadotte township and Mrs. Helms. There are also nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Christian church from where the funeral was conducted Wednesday. The pastor, Rev. E. E. Catlin, officiated. Interment was in the Ipava cemetery.

Death of Mrs. John Azbel

IPAVA — Mary Jane Leonard, aged 74 years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva Helms, Monday, Jan. 13, after a severe illness of flu and complications. The husband, John Azbel, preceded her in death, Jan. 18, 1927.

She is survived by one son, Ed Azbel of Ipava and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Helms of Ipava; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Azbel has been in frail health for many months and has been most tenderly cared for by her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Christian church, Rev. E. E. Catlin, pastor, officiating. Interment in Ipava cemetery.
