LUCY (BURGARD) AUTLAND

Mrs. Lucy Autland Called By Death

Mrs. Lucy Autland, wife of Ezra Autland, died at the Proctor hospital, Peoria, Sunday forenoon following an operation for gall stones. The body was brought here Monday and taken to the late home south of Astoria.

Lucy Burgard was born in Fulton county, May 29, 1869 and at the time of her death was aged 51 years and 25 days.

She was united in marriage to Ezra Autland Nov. 4, 1894. She leaves to mourn her untimely death a husband and two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Blickenstaff of Cerro Gordo, and Mrs. Maggie Mohler of Wakita, Okla., also many relatives and friends.

Mrs. Autland was a member of the Church of the Brethren. She was the sweet, gentle type of woman and her ways were ways of peace. Her sunshiny disposition and cheerful heart made home and surrounds one never to be forgotten.

To know her was to love her, because her ways were so becomingly Christian. Her influence was always for good and she never tired of telling the love of Jesus in her heart. We shall miss her at home and the little deeds of kindness she has showered around us, shall live in the hearts of her neighbors and friends forever. The church in which she loved to work has lost a bright and shining light only to shine eternally in the home prepared for her.

Funeral services were held at the South Fulton church, at 2:30 Tuesday, conducted by Elders Abe Lind and R. C. Stambaugh. Burial in cemetery near by.
