Washington Ashcraft

RAY — The remains of Washington Ashcraft were brought here for interment Thursday. Mr. Ashcraft died at his home in Peoria Tuesday, June 16th. He formerly resided in Ray and was well known in this section. The funeral services in charge of the G. A. R. and were held from the Christian church at Ray, conducted by Rev. Ross, of Vermont, and the organist, Miss Gertie Stockton played “Marching thru Georgia,” as it was a request of Mr. Ashcraft that the old familiar air be played. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss, also three sisters and two brothers and many friends.
