Mrs. Mary Hall Aten was born in Pennsylvania, in 1811, and died at her home five miles north of Adair, Ill., June 27, 1891. The deceased was married to John C. Aten in 1843, and came to Illinois in 1856. For many years she lived near Astoria and is well known here. Rev. Ashley conducted the funeral services at Salem Chapel Sunday June 28th, and the remains were interred in the Salem cemetery. Mrs. Aten was a member of the Vermont Presbyterian Church.
