Celebrations
Astoria
The
annual Independence Day celebration in Astoria will be held Friday,
July 4, at Hughes Park.
Softball tournament games begin at 3 p.m. along with After-Prom
Committee serving super nachos.
There will be entertainment, other food stands and raffle drawings
beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The
fireworks display by J & M Displays will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Vermont
Vermont Memorial Ballpark’s annual Fourth of July Celebration will be
held Saturday, July 5.
Tentative schedule of events is as follows:

7-8 game — Coach Pitch, 1-2 p.m.

Opening Ceremonies, 2-2:10 p.m.

10 and under Home Run Derby, 2:10-2:30 p.m.

9-10 Game — Pitching Machine, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

11-12 Home Run, 13-15 Home Run, 3:30-4:15 p.m.

11-12 Game — Slow Pitch Softball, 4:15-5:15 p.m.

Bitty Batters, 5:15-5:45 p.m.
-
Special Recognition, 5:45-5:50 p.m.

Adult Home Run Derby, 5:50-6:30 p.m.

Firefighter’s Game: Table Grove vs. Vermont, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Women’s Hall of Fame vs. Diaper Dandies, 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Old Timers vs. Young Guns, 8:30-9:45 p.m.

Fireworks display by J & M Displays following the last game.
Butterfly porkchops will be served throughout the day.
