Jack WallickJack L. Wallick, 83, of Lewistown died at 6:40 p.m. April 23, 2011, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

He was born July 24, 1927, in Checkrow, a son of Charles Glen and Erma Elizabeth Potts Wallick. He married Marjilee Trotter on Dec. 14, 1952, in Knoxville. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Terry Wallick of Macomb, Jerry (and Tom) Gaston of Springfield and Jackie Wallick and Lana Wallick, both of Lewistown; one sister, Helen Miller of Bartonville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

He was a retired farmer.

He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1945-54 and had served in active duty from 1945-46. He was recalled to active duty in February 1951 and served aboard the U.S.S. Bryce Canyon in Japan and Korea during the Korean War.

He was a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001, and a past member of Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Larry Wright officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Military services will be conducted following the service by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.
