Virgie Winifred Wilson, 83, of Rushville died at 12:15 a.m. July 23, 2007, at Snyder’s Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1924, in Superior, Ariz., a daughter of Owen and Grace Rittenhouse Ambrosius Lawler. She married Eugene “Buzz” Wilson on Jan. 19, 1952, in Las Vegas, Nev. He died April 19, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, William Lawler; one half sister, Maxine Ambrosius Eckroy Alvarez; and two half brothers, Marvin and Don Ambrosius.
She graduated from Superior High School in 1943. She later graduated as a licensed practical nurse from the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps in El Paso, Texas. During her nursing career she worked at Gardena Hospital in California, Schmitt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown and St. Francis Hospital in Macomb.
Cremation has been accorded. There will be no visitation or service. Worthington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
