Grace White

Grace WhiteGrace I. White, 96, of Smithfield died at 5:50 p.m. Jan. 4, 2007, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born July 4, 1910, in Prairie City, a daughter of Frank C. and Marietta Boynton Potter. She married Kenneth R. White on Aug. 20, 1933, in Virgil. He died June 20, 1968.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Esther M. Potter; and two brothers, Russell “Doan” and Ralph Potter.

Surviving are two daughters, Elinor (and Gary) King of Anderson, Mo., and Mariluan (and Theodore) Deming of Smithfield; one son, Donald (and Shirley) of Smithfield; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife.

She was a member of Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield for many years, and a member of HEA group in Smithfield.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Layton Malone and Jim Menne officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
