Mildred L. Vallery, 85, of Rushville died at 5:45 p.m. May 17, 2008, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born April 8, 1923, in Beardstown, a daughter of Archie and Sarah Jane Rohn. She married Harlan C. Vallery on Oct. 3, 1942, in Palmyra, Missouri. He died Jan. 12, 2003.
She also was preceded in death by one son, John Vallery; two brothers, Bud and Homer Rohn; and two sisters, Muriel Buck and Jane Upchurch.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (and Barney) Gish of Beardstown and Janie (and Jim) Malcomson of Rushville; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Beardstown High School and attended beauty college in Jacksonville.
She owned and operated Vallery’s Beauty Shop in Beardstown.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown with Rev. David Natzke officiating. Wood Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
