NORBOURNE F. “VIC” VICKERS

Norbourne F. “Vic” Vickers, 86, of Smithfield died at 2 a.m. Oct. 1, 2007, at his home.

He was born Aug. 16, 1921, in St. Louis, Mo., a son of Arthur and Elgie Hollandsworth Vickers. He married Marjorie Jacobus in October 1977 in Elmhurst, N.Y. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David Vickers of Fredericksburg, Va., and Marc Vickers of Roswell, N.M.; one daughter, Dee Gee Lopatowski of Austin, Texas; one stepdaughter, Debbie Danner of Smithfield; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Tirey Vickers.

He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He worked for 40 years for TWA as a flight dispatcher, having worked in Rome and Paris through his career. He also worked for Command Airways and American Airlines.

He was a member of Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533.

A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba where military rites will be accorded at 6 p.m. by his legion post. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
