Myron Taylor

Myron H. Taylor, 71, of Rushville died at 7:30 p.m. June 19, 2012, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Aug. 28, 1940, in Rushville, a son of Herschel and Iva Griffith Taylor. He first married Sandra Anderson. He then married Joyce Cain, who preceded him in death. He later married Zoey Clayberg Runyan on April 1, 1995, in Burlington, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Myra (and Dave) Bruegger and Mitchell (and Julie) Taylor, both of Burlington, Iowa, and Melinda Geick of Bettendorf, Iowa; two stepsons, Mark Runyan and James (and Tari) Runyan, both of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Jeanette Downs of Rushville; one brother, David (and Marcella) Taylor of Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Taylor; and one sister, Alice Irene Taylor.

He was a 1958 graduate of Rushville High School. He first worked for Bartlow Brothers in Rushville. In 1971, he began working for Dubuque Packing Company, where he earned National Salesman of the Year Award. He later worked for Kohls Wholesale and Jones Poultry. He returned to Bartlow Brothers in 2002, where he worked until 2008.

He was a member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ducks Unlimited and National Rifle Association.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday at his church with Reverend Robert Einhouse officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery, south of Rushville. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
