He was born May 18, 1934, in Bainbridge Township in Schuyler County, a son of Hiram and Florence Smedley Trinkle. He married Betty J. Burnside on Aug. 30, 1952, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1993.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Eber Trinkle.
Surviving are two sons, Marty (and Carol) Trinkle and David (and Maryann) Trinkle, both of Rushville; two daughters, Judy (and Jeff) Chute and Linda (and Kevin) Stambaugh, both of Rushville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandaughter.
He worked for Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing, Schuyler Grain Co., Schuyler-Brown FS and M & M Vending.
He was a member of Rushville Church of Christ "Christian" and volunteered with Schuyler County Food Basket.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mike Cahill officiating. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.
