Mary E. Tippett, 82, of Astoria died at 7:03 a.m. June 30, 2008, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born July 1, 1925, in Hot Springs, Ariz., the daughter of Kavanaugh and Clara Vivian Hargrave Douglass. She married Dr. James F. Tippett on Nov. 18, 1951, in Hot Springs. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Mark (and Jill) Tippett of Lewistown; one brother, Jim (and Barbara) Douglass of Buford, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Douglass.
She worked for Stevens Publishing Company in Astoria for many years.
She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Beth Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the memorial home. Burial will be at Astoria Cemetery.
