Lillian Tribbey

Lillian TribbeyLillian G. Tribbey, 83, of Rushville died at 1:43 a.m. Aug. 15, 2007, at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.

She was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Golden, a daughter of Menne and Trintje Bienhoff Aden. She married Herschel Tribbey on Sept. 1, 1946, in Golden. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Barbara (and Harold) Sargent of Libertyville; four sons, Allen (and Sherry) Tribbey of Carthage, Texas, Richard Tribbey of Victoria, Texas, John (and Linda) Tribbey of Rushville and Jerry (and Denise) Tribbey of Horicon, Wis.; two sisters, Miriam Carstens and Lorene Padgett, both of Golden; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Benjamin Sargent and David Tribbey; one brother, Harry Aden; and two sisters, Marie Marten and Dorothea Bolton.

She attended elementary school in the Golden area and graduated from Golden High School. She also was a graduate of Gem City Business College in Quincy.

She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Rushville, the White Oak Community Club and was a Cub Scouts den mother.

Services were held Saturday at her church with Rev. John E. Sowers officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
